Seed calculator

Bed size and one crop. The plant count uses stored spacing. Seeds to buy add the germination buffer you enter. A missing figure stays data coming soon.

Crop figures are cited from public agriculture pages, including the Department of Agriculture Sri Lanka.

Methodology

How is the plant count calculated?
Row layout divides the bed by the stored in-row and between-row spacing and counts only whole spaces. A leftover gap is not a plant. Both spacing numbers have to be stored.
How many seeds should I buy?
Seeds to buy are the plant count divided by the germination percent you enter, rounded up. The default germination is 80 percent and you can change it. It is not a stored crop fact.
Why do some crops say data coming soon?
Square-foot density, intensive spacing, and seeds per gram are not stored. A crop with only one of the two row spacings is also left blank. The page does not invent those numbers.
